General Hospital. He was 67 and
had lived in Shelton for 36 years,

He was born on March 22, 1940
in Boulder, Colorado, to artists
Frederick Clement and Frances
(Hoar) Trucksess. He graduated
from Boulder High School in 1957.
He graduated from the University
of Colorado with a bachelor’s de-
gree in 1962 and from the Univer-
sity of Colorado Medical School in
1966,
Dr. Trucksess married his first
love and high-school sweetheart,
Nancy Renee (Herrington) Truck-
sess, in Boulder in 1957.
He served in the Navy Medical
Corps from 1961 to 1985 and was
a lieutenant commander. He was
medical officer and director of fam»
ily practice at Bremerton Naval
Hospital from 1969 to 1971 and
medical officer on the USS Hector
from 1967 to 1968. He also served
in the Army Reserve from 1986 to
1991.
He served a rotating internship
at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in
Virginia in 1967 and general prac-
tice residency at Jacksonville Na-
val Hospital in Florida from 1968
to 1970.
He served on the Shelton School
Board from 1975 to 1980 and was
a member of the Mason County
Chapter of the American Cancer
Society from 1975 to 1985.
His hobbies included boating on
Puget Sound in Contagious and
Good Medicine with his wife and
their boat dog, Gilligan. He was
a master crabber, climbed Mount
Rainier in IDS-degree weather,
carved a totem pole, was an oil
painter, folk singer and played the
guitar.
An active man, Dr. Trucksess
was a marathon runner and com-
peted in the Eugene, Oregon, mar-
athon in 1978. He hosted the an-
nual Turkey Trot, a 2.25»mile run
around Island Lake on Thanksgiv-
ing Day with decorated tongue de—
pressors as prizes.
He liked to ski, was a ski bus
chaperone from 1972 to 1976, and
enjoyed water skiing and golf.
Surviving are wife Nancy Truck-
sess of Shelton; daughters Renee
Knarreborg and husband Victor of
Lakewood, Robin Trucksess and
Joseph Mucci of Seattle, Shelly
Baldwin and husband Gordon of
Federal Way and Holly Trucksess
of Shelton; grandchildren Ryan
Randleas of Olympia, Noelle Re-
nee Baldwin of Los Angeles, Cali-
fornia, and Andrew Baldwin of
Federal Way; sister Ann Pierce of
Chico, California. and numerous
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by
his parents and by sister Joan Ea-
sley.
A memorial service will be held
at 2 p.111. on Sunday, February 10,
at the Shelton Civic Center, 525
West Cota Street. Pastor Jeff Bur-
sch will officiate.
Memorial donations may be
made to the Mason General Hos-
pital Foundation or the Shelton
Presbyterian Church Building
