VOL 29 NO 1 NEWSLETTER THE CHINA LAKER Hewlett-Packard Company President’s Message by Michelle Kilikauskas Mar 2024 It’s almost spring. The wildflowers are popping up in the desert around us and trees around town are beginning to bloom - and it’s windy as I write this. As I watch the wind, I’m reminded of the great pictures of epic windstorms that the NOTS pioneers endured. The folks that stuck it out despite the harsh conditions were tough! Speaking of pioneers, we were saddened to hear of the recent passing of two China Lake long term volunteers at the China Lake Museum, Joanne Latimer and Rose Marie Davis. We are so grateful for their contributions to our community and to the museum and for their example of lives well lived. It is our privilege to continue their legacy of service as we honor the past, educate today, and build for the future. If you haven’t been by the museum complex lately, we invite you to drop by and check out the progress on the trellis work over our new sidewalk. While you’re there, poke your head in and see what’s new in the gift shop. I really love the plush rockets! Look forward to seeing you around this spring!
