Paul W. Ulrich of Shelton died
September 15 at the Fir Lane
Terrace Health Rehabilitation
Center. He was 77.
He was born in Hebron, North
Dakot,a on February 27, 1919) 30
Martin and Lydia (Bender) Ul-
rich. He was married in Bis-
marck, North Dakota, on Febru~
ary 8, 1941 to the former Leona
Hermes.
Mr, Ulrich served in the US.
Army with the 9131; and 71st In-
fantry before entering officer can-
didate school at the Edgewood Ar—
senal in Baltimore, Maryland. He
graduated as a chemical engineer
and was assigned to The Philip-
pines until 1946‘ He served in the
Army for 27 years before retiring
as a major with the 313th Chem-
ical Unit.
He owned and operated a dis-
plays and fixtures store.
Mr. Ulrich was a member of
Local 131 of the Carpenters
Union. He was also a member of
Shelton Post 1694 of the Veterans
of Foreign Wars and of a VFW
post in Seattle.
He was preceded in death by a
daughter, Paulette Ann Thomp-
son, in 1991. Survivors include
his wife, Leona Ulrich, and his
daughter, Sherrie Kurtzer of
Marysville; four grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.
Dr. Ludvig Eskildsen officiated
at memorial services held Sep-
tember 18 at McComb Funeral
