Denver Bearden Sr. Longtime Shelton resident and retired postal worker Denver Robert “Bob" Bearden Sr. died of natural causes on Saturday, Oc- tober 20, at Maple Glen Assisted Living Commu- nity. He was 84 and had lived in the Shelton area since 1945. He was born on June 10,1923 in Wayne Coun- ty, Missouri, to David and Lula (Eaton) Bearden‘ He served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS BegfggfirSr. Long Island He Worked in a bakery, then for Simpson Timber Company for 15 years, then at the Shelton Post Of- fice. He retired in 1985‘ Mr. Bearden enjoyed baking. He was a master gardener and a member of Skokomish Comm unity Church. Surviving are sons Denver Rob» ert Bearden Jr. and wife Sherie and Charles Bearden and wife Karen, all of Shelton; sister Eva Cuzick of Shelton; brother Ozoro Bearden of Missouri; sister-in- law Evelyn Rutherford of Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren His wife, Adrene, preceded him in death in 2002. A graveside service will be held at 11 am. Friday, October 26, at Shelton Memorial Park. Pastor Maury Jenkins will officiate. Arrangements are under the di- rection of McComb Funeral Home ofShelton.
