Dies In Hospital
Harry T. Calkins, 303 K
Street, died in Mason General
Hospital on Tuesday. He was 77
years old.
He was born Aug. 31, 1893 in
Hubbard, Iowa, and had lived in
Shelton and Mason County for
the past 49 years. He was, prior to
his retirement, employed at the
Joint Power Plant.
He is survived by his wife,
Cliffie E. Calkins, of the home; a
son, Harvard (Buz) Calkins,
Shelton; four daughters, Mrs.
Ruby Landry of Puyallup and the
Mesdames Beverly Townsend,
Ollie Wentz and Marjorie Aaron,
all of Shelton; a sister, Mrs.
Marian Homan, Shelton; two
brothers, Rusty Calkins of
Randall, Wa.. and Kenneth
Calkins, Olympia; two
step-daughters, Mrs. Helen
Robinson of Port Angeles and
Mrs. June Rodgers, Shelton; two
step-sons, Bud Chesley, Bozeman,
Mont, and Darwin Chesley of
Livermore, Cal.; 26 grandchildren;
25 "great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the
Seventh Day Adventist Church,
where a funeral will be held at 10
am. Friday with Pastor Gary Ellis
officiating and burial in Shelton
Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations to
the Mason General Hospital
Coronary Care Unit have been
requested.
