Snethen, John———came Lo Granite Falls with his family in 1889.
Waltz, Art—————
Built the Cascade Hotel, a blacksmith shop,
liverv stables and his home at the corner of
Kentucky and Stanley. Much later he started
the Washington stove Works in Everett.
He sold the home to Art Waltz. Claude Stage,
anomher friend‘of Snethen, had a daughter, Iva,
who married Waltz. ,The first telehone system
was hodsed in their home until the phone system
was converted to dial in1954.
Waltz started a mill behind the home and later
sold to Harry Olson.
Brush, Fred————~Short1y before 1912, the whole blcck next
Menzel, Henry &
Lewis Henry & Harry——The built a large 10 home at once

to what is now the Klaus Building burned and Brush
built the first brick building along that block
for his clothing and shoe making business.
George——they formed a partnership with T.K.Robe
(1901) and built the Robe—Menzel Mill on what
is now the Craggs home and lake. Previ(us
-owners were the Mallard family. Menzels sold
their interest in1909. Henry kept lSacres for
retirement and in1956 sold it to his'daughter,
Bernice and husband Herman Meyer. It is still
owned by the daughter,Dianna Meyer. (2001)

Ka.and Meredith Padgett and also serviced by
a Coffee Shop featuring home—made cinnamon rolls.
