Allen LaBissoniere Longtime Shelton resident A1~ len J . LaBissoniere died on Thurs- day, May 1, at Alpine Way Retire» ment Center. He was 85 and had lived in Shelton 82 years. He was born on April 1, 1923 in Moxie City to Julius and De» lina (Lizotte) La Bissoniere He gradu- ated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1941. Afier gradu- ating from high ‘ school, Mr. Allen LaBlssoniere LaBissoniex-e Joined the Army and was the pi- lot ofa B—17 bomber. He married Barbara Durand in Shelton on January 2, 1946. He was the owner of La Bis- soniere Agency, a real estate and insurance company. In the Six- ties he went into banking and was instrumental in starting the Na- tional Bank of Mason County, now KeyBank. He enjoyed the outdoors and salmon fishing. He was a trophy hunter who hunted elk, deer and sheep. His hunting trips took him to many places, including Alaska and Canada, He owned a Cessna airplane and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and an aircraft search and rescue group, He served on a credit union board, was a police commissioner as Well as a Port of Shelton com- missioner and was a member of the Shelton Elks Lodge. Surviving are wife Barbara La- Bissoniere of Shelton; son Terry LaBissoniere and wife Julie of Kent; sisters Joyce Eastman of Clarita, California, and Sister Ma- rie (Veronica) LaBissoniere of Cale ifornia; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
