Section III - Appeal Information Appelant: Alice Sorensen Grounds: I trust the city of Pacific grove sees fit to reverse the decision of the Historic Resources Committee action re above. House suffered considerably from the earthquake in the late eighties. I arge sections of exterior stucco had to be replaced and more problems were taken care of last year. A considerable number of fairly large cracks had to be repai,jon the inside of the house. The repairmen checked the house and said it was safe but the structure was not very sound. I understand the Historic Resources Committee's consideration for placement on the inventory is only that of the architectural aspects of the house. Consideration is not given to the site or to the immediate neighborhood. This is unbelievable - how can you separate them. This is not a tent-size lot in the old retreat area. And the house is not a beautiful Craftsman House. 901 Del Monte and the other improvement on the property areablighLia. the 1gvely neighborhood and they are all close--12 taa end-of_ -EK--6-rr-;TrTE--*- -- - The following actions of the Committee disturb me: 1. That all committee decisions were prompted by one member only - Pam Chrislock. The committee deferred to her on everything and she definitely directed the Yes or No. One wonders what the other members really thought. 2. Pam Chrislock, committee member, showed an emotional tie to 901 Del Monte - "I almost lived in that house in the 1960s - I LCVE THAT MCUSE. I understand rules but a house, the lot, otherimprovement, the neighborhood and the owner should be considered. I have owned property in F.G since 1973 and have abided by city rules.
