Subject: Findings re proposed demolition of portion of single-
family dwelling at 314 Wood Street
Dear Roger:
This letter is intended to summarize the findings of the
Community Development Director made pursuant to Section 2(b)
Of
the City's Ordinance Extending Moratorium on Demolition Of
Buildings Constructed Prior to 1925 (Ord. No. 1692 N.S.).
On October 20, 1989. you attended a meeting
to consider the
proposed demolition in which Adam Weiland (Heritage Society),
Associate Planner Judith MacClelland, and myself participated.
Based on the comments at the meeting noting that the portion
of
the structure on the site which is proposed
to be demolished
appears to be a substandard lean-to type of construction and
is
not visible from the street, and noting the absence of
architectural and historical significance of this portion of
the
building, it is my determination that the portion Of the
structure on the site which is proposed to be
demolished meets
the conditions to grant an exception from the Demolition
Moratorium.
If you are dissatisfied with this decision you may request the
City Council to review the matter.
Based on the above determination. a Negative Declaration has been
prepared for the proposed demolitioh. The Negative
Declaration
will be published in the Herald on November 5, 1989 and will
become final on November 16. 1989 if not appealed to
the City
Council.
Should yOU require further information. please contact Judith
MacClelland at .
Sincerely,
Anthony W. Lobay
