Under the skillful bands of Mr. Naplet, tbe decorator, tbe *acioits parlors of tbe Vendome Hotel
weretransformedintoabowerofbeality.Tl,epriticipa]featitreintbedecorationswasthedraperies
from the ceiling to tbe side walls lending a cbarming efect to tbe mom. At one end of tbe parlor, a
beautiful bell in bride's roses and maiden bair fern, witb pink sweet pas outlining tbe design, was
hanging. From tbe bell were sming pink ribbons to tbe walls wbere percbed, as if to ring out tbe
weddingcbimes,werethreebeautifulwbitedoves,oneofwbicbwasjustli*tingontbebell,tbeotber
two being at tbe side of the mom witb pink ribbons in their moutbs. Beautifid potted plants Of all
kinds added to tbe scene. Music was provided 19 tbe Vendome Orchestra.
The Episcopal service was followed by a delicious wedding breakfast in the Vendome's attractive
dining room
Norma and Frank built their home at 651 North First Street, one block north of the hotel where
they were married.
Frank was President of the Sainte Clair Club, which included his friend, the wine maker, Paul
Masson. The Sainte Claire Club was organized by Senator James D. Phelan as a meeting place for
local businessmen. Phelan, a former mayor of San Francisco who spent the summers at his Vill:i

thesamemerchandiseatlessthanhiscost.Tocompeteheexpandedbyopeninganewlocation
wherehecouldgointothewholesaledrugbusiness.Healsoopenedanotherstoreinanarea
where many doctors had their offices which handled prescriptions only.
While making an after dinner speech at the Sainte Clare Club Frank had a stroke. He was rushed
to the hospital where he died on November 2, 1927. He was 44 years old.
